  • This video of the Real Harlem Shake.
  • Do parking fees affect whether or not you visit certain malls/establishments?
  • I know asked this question this week on FB and Twitter. No response.
  • Why am I asking? Well, due to the change in pricing for parking in Yaya Center, we have reduced how often we go there (we now will settle for the Chandarana at Lavington Green).
  • Valley Arcade as well. The parking fees are, in my opinion, too high to justify going there especially since there is nothing that I think we are missing out on.
  • I think Valley Arcade has the highest parking fees in Nairobi, correct me if I am wrong.
  • That being said, KAPS is surely laughing all the way to the bank.
  • Speaking of malls, I can’t remember the last time I was in Westgate. Boycott = success!
  • Sunny Bindra is always talking about how customers in Kenya do not insist on quality customer service.
  • Why is this the case? Let me tell you, there is no way someone will be rude or not give service up to par and get away with it where I am concerned.
  • I will sooner stop shopping there (See Westgate example)
  • People… I keep telling you, if you are paying for a service, you DESERVE good to great service. Do not settle for less.
  • But settling for less is a Kenyan thing, no? Let us refuse this STAT!

Rise up ladies and gents!

  1. Parking fees affects whether I visit a place or not- most times I will be in and out within 30 minutes :-) . I was pleasantly surprised by Adams though. I think their rates are the most friendly!

  2. What happened at Westgate that made you boycott??

    • Expensive and they are paranoid to the extreme. It is like they don’t want people to enter the mall. Never no need I tell you. Junction mwisho :-)

  3. I hear ya!!Well except during school holidays when it’s jam packed with those purple, pink and blue braided-hair kids nnkt!

People forget that it is how you treat your customers that keeps them coming back! wedding vendors especially!!

I love this place in Nairobi West called Cake Hut not only because of their excellent sandwiches but also because of the the way they treat their customers…so polite and welcoming!if you’re ever those sides, check it out!

    Have a nice restful weekend!

  4. Yes, parking fees are a very big determining factor on where I will go. Am also disturbed by the fact that parking slots for disabled are very few and the ones available are sometimes occupied by people who don’t have a disabled sticker. Parking for mothers with strollers is also lacking, only Yaya has one.

I once worked at a customer care centre, we got a new boss who gave timelines on how much time is spent with a customer on phone, the time wasn’t enough and we hurried customers along but they weren’t sorted, so they kept calling back. I quit after sometime since it wasn’t making sense to me, I am a customer else where and I like receiving the service I paid for and my issues sorted to completion.

    Happy weekend!

  5. Parking fees def affects whether or not I’ll shop somewhere. Valley arcade is RIDICULOUS!! I usually park at Dhanjay apartments then walk in to Valley Arcade when I need to. Its free. Upper Hill Medical Centre, where the Java is is also very expensive. Prestige is ok, although I wasn’t happy that they started charging for parking. Didn’t realise Yaya has increased the charges, I’m usually in and out in 30 minutes.
I went to Naivas over the weekend, the one at the Green House in Adams. The best service I’ve received in a loooooooooong while. I don’t know if it’s coz they’re still new, but I loved the shopping experience there.
